R. Scott Burch

R. Scott Burch beloved son, father, and grandfather, passed away on December 8th, 2023, at the age of 62.

He was born on November 29th, 1961, to Alice and Ward Burch in New Orleans, Louisiana. Raised in North Carolina, Scott attended Stoneville High School in Stoneville, NC. After graduating from Stoneville High School in 1980, Scott went on to study at the University of Georgia’s College of Pharmacy. Scott was an avid UGA football fan and spent many Saturdays in Athens cheering on the Dawgs. Scott cherished his family and always went out of his way to make those around him feel loved and supported. He never forgot his North Carolina roots and made going home to see his family there a priority in life. He was a wealth of knowledge and a pillar in his community at work. He enjoyed winding down by watching movies with his sons and was known for being a grill master. Scott was a lover of music and took joy in seeing live music with his daughters and friends. When he was not playing the role of rockstar pharmacist at Northside Hospital Gwinnett, Scott took delight in traveling with his family. Most years you could catch him track side at Bristol watching a NASCAR race with his favorite cousins. Scott’s favorite hobbies were soaking up the sun on a beach or relaxing on Lake Hartwell. Above all, Scott loved the Lord and walked daily with Jesus.

Scott is survived by his four children: Chelsea and Lauren Rodriguez, Carson and Garret Burch; his sister Anita Wilson, and five grandchildren: Addie, Blythe, Charlie, Lennon, and Henry. Scott is preceded in death by his mother, Alice, and his father, Ward.

Funeral services will be Friday, December 15, 2023 at 12:00 pm at Lord and Stephens, West. The family will receive friends following the service. Graveside services will be held in Greensboro, NC on Saturday, December 16, 2023 at 10:00 am at Guilford Memorial Park with a reception following at Hanes Lineberry Funeral Home.
