Evelyn C. Wright

Evelyn Crabbe Wright, 97, died Monday, Sept. 5, 2022.  She was born and grew up in southern Indiana, lived much of her earlier adult life in central Illinois, but moved to Athens in 1986.  Evelyn was for many years a psychiatric nurse in both Illinois and Tampa, Florida.  She and husband Bob were very active at Tuckston United Methodist Church and in the Winterville community, where they had many friends and a very full social life.  Evelyn and Bob were married for 73 years.
Evelyn was preceded in death by husband Robert (Bob) Wright, son Alan Wright, parents Leland and Susie Crabbe, sister Ann Masters, and brothers George Crabbe and Gerald Crabbe.  She is survived by daughter Margaret Napoli (Joseph), brother Don Crabbe (Betty), grandchildren Janeanne Napoli and Mari Catherine Poister (Robert), great grandchildren Rowan and Ada Grey Poister, and nieces and nephews in Illinois, Florida, Oklahoma, and Colorado.
A memorial service celebrating the life of Evelyn Wright will be held Sunday, September 11, 2022 at Tuckston United Methodist Church at 3:00 pm., Rev. John Brown officiating.  Donations in her memory can be made to Tuckston United Methodist Church.
