Winifred H. Jackson

Lexington - Winifred H. Jackson, 94, daughter of Charlie L. and Willie N. Harrison and wife of the late John P. (Jack) Jackson died Tuesday, August 2, 2011.
She was born July 21, 1917 in Lexington, GA.
She is survived by one son, Larry E. Jackson, Conyers, GA., grandson, John L. Jackson of Washington, DC, granddaughter, Suzanne J. Newberry of Gray, GA, their mother, Sherry Beck of Bishop, GA; great granddaughter, Amelia L. Newberry as well as several cousins.
She was a 1934 honor graduate of Meson Academy, Lexington, GA, was employed by the USDA for 33 years as a clerk and office manager and retired in 1973. Then she was employed by Citizens Bank, County Clerk of Oglethorpe County and was secretary treasurer to the Oglethorpe County Chamber of Commerce. She was a member of Lighthouse Evangelical Methodist Church.
Pallbearers will be Andy Jackson, Terry Jackson, Carlos Rodriguez-Feo, Tom Daniel, Clarence Turenne and Nathaniel Mitchell.
Graveside services will be held Friday, August 5, 2011 at 10AM at the Jackson-Harrison Family Cemetery with Rev. Curtis Parker officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday from 6 to 8 at the funeral home.
Flowers are optional or memorials may be made to Lighthouse Evangelical Methodist Church.
