Willliam Raymond Shipley

William “Ray” Raymond Shipley, 84, of Statham peacefully passed away at home on Tuesday, February 23, 2021. Born on September 13, 1936, he was the son of the late Benjamin Jackson Shipley, Jr and Mary Kidd Shipley.

Ray had been an appraiser while he lived in Statham and was a life member of the American  Legion, and former member of the Loyal Order of Moose in Bogart. He loved the Georgia Bulldogs and the Atlanta Braves.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Benjamin Jackson Shipley III, Linda Shipley Boggs; and grandson, Eric Shipley.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Ann Shipley; sons, David (Christine) Shipley, Daniel Shipley, Joseph (Cynthia) Shipley, Ronald Shipley, Stephen (Cheri) Faber; daughters, Gretchen Faber (Lee), Kristen Faber; 6 grandsons; 2 granddaughters; 1 great-granddaughter.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
