Willie Lee Nation

Willie Lee Nation, 94, of Oglethorpe passed away on July 30, 2024. Born on May 4, 1930, she was the daughter of the late Lula Mae Thomas and Hyartt Thomas Wheless.

Willie could often be found cutting her grass, shelling pecans or cooking meals for her family. She loved her family and her dogs.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Freddy Duncan Nation; son, Danny Nation; granddaughter, Natalie Nation; great grandson, Cole Nation; two brothers; two sisters.

Survivors include her children, Donald Nation (Rhonda), Dennis Nation (Alecia), Doyle Nation (Annie); grandchildren, Kimberly, Kristen, Shalee, Michae, Nicholas, Christopher Nation; seven great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, August 1, 2024, at 12:00 PM at Welcome Avenue Congregational Holiness Church. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 10:00 to 11:30 AM at Lord & Stephens Funeral Home, EAST, Athens. The family requests those attending to dress casually.
