Willie Ray Cochran

Willie Ray Cochran, 80, of Danielsville, passed away Saturday, April 29, 2017.
Born in Commerce, he was a son of the late Willie Burch Cochran and Fannie Lee Cochran. Mr. Cochran served in the United States Air Force from 1956 until being honorably discharged in 1962. He worked on heavy equipment for various companies, and retired as District Supervisor from Williams Company in 1995. He served as Past Master of John H. Jones Masonic Lodge #348. Mr. Cochran was a member of the original steering committee of Athens Area Walk to Emmaus, where he was active for many years. He enjoyed gardening, farming and was a member of Jones Chapel United Methodist Church for over 50 years.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Ernestine Gnann Cochran; five children, Debra Cochran, Thomas Cochran, Clint Cochran, Melody Cochran Christian and Mandy Cochran Vinson; two siblings, Lee Cochran and Weyman Cochran; eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 2, 2017 at 11:00 am at Jones Chapel United Methodist Church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday, May 1, 2017 from 6:00 until 8:00 pm at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Jones Chapel United Methodist Church Men's Club, 5601 US Highway 29, Danielsville, GA 30633.
