Watkinsville - Willie W.B. (Dub ) Barrow, a devoted husband and father went home to be with the Lord on December 26, 2005.
Mr. Barrow was born on April 17, 1942 to the late JC and Savannah Christopher Barrow in Penfield, GA. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Hugh and Jimmy Barrow.
After marrying Jackie, they moved to Athens, GA where he worked at Athens Lumber Co. and the University of Georgia for several years. He then started his own wood working business in 1979 and recently retired in 2005. Dub had a true gift from God in his cabinetry and furniture craftsmanship, which was featured in Better Homes and Garden in 1991.
Mr. Barrow was a kind, tender loving and giving soul who was crafty and humble. He was loved by many and even through his spirit has moved on to be with God, his memories wall live through the things and people that he touched on his journey in life.
He is survived by his wife Jacqueline B. Barrow of 37 years, a wonderful son, Carlos S. Barrow, brothers, James Barrow, Jr. of Penfield, GA James Albert Barrow of Athens, Andrew and his wife Sheila Barrow of Athens, sisters; Lizzie Ree and her husband Ralph Smith of Athens, Irene Barrow of Penfield, GA Rosa Lee Barrow of Penfield, GA aunt, Sue Bell Armstrong of Penfield and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 29, 2005 at Lord & Stephens West Chapel at 1PM with Rev. Willie Bodrick officiating. The family will receive friends tonight from 6 to 8 at the funeral home. Burial will be private.
Flowers will be accepted.
