Colbert - William Dwaine "Pop" Tyner died at his home Wednesday, June 23, 2010, at the age of 81.
His was an amazing life filled with adventure and family. He was a self-taught guitarist, singer of folk and gospel songs and filled with a wonderful sense of humor. He was a loving husband, devoted father and the best barber ever to hold a pair of scissors. So well established was his business that it is still hard to find a person young or old who hasn't had their hair cut by him at least once. In his spare time, he loved to go to North Carolina trout fishing, but he mostly kept close to home where he and his wife, Ida, raised three sons. He has left a legacy of memories that will always be with us. Mr. Tyner was preceded in death by a son, Keith Tyner; and a grandson, Lee Tyner.
He is survived by his lovely wife, Ida Kesler Tyner, whom he celebrated 60 years of marriage on June 7; sons, Kenneth Tyner, wife, Angela, Mark Tyner, wife, Jeannie, and Grant Tyner, wife, Lise; and grandchildren, Mimi, Audre, Brandon, Spence, Joel, Harrison, Isak, Joshua, Kaja, Jill and Jonathan.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, June 26, 2010, at Crossroads Church on Hwy. 29 with the Revs. Morris Sapp and Dennis Kesler. Burial will be in the New Hope Worship Center Cemetery, Danielsville.
Pallbearers are Jonathon, Brandon, Spence and Harrison.
The family will received friends Friday, June 25, from 7-9 p.m. at the funeral home.
