Lexington - William Steven Tiller, a native of Oglethorpe county, passed away on Wednesday, July 13th, 2011 after fighting a long battle with liver disease. Affectionately known to everyone as Steve, he lived all of his forty-four years with a passion for life, fun, and a stubborn determination. He worked hard all of his life in the logging, construction, and trucking industries. He proudly owned his own trucking company as well. Steve was always full of life and had an undeniable charm. He had a passion for riding dirt roads and listening to country music. A cowboy at heart, Steve loved hunting, fishing, riding horses, spending time with his nephew, Evan (his "duke man"), and his little baby girl, Robbie. Steve had a big heart and would give the shirt off his back to help anyone he could. Steve was extremely proud to be a Veteran and served in the Army National Guard. He won medals while in service for excellent marksmanship with M16 Rifles, and expert in hand grenades. He was awarded the Army Service Ribbon and was listed as a PV1 13B10 Cannon Crewman.
He is preceded in death by his father, William Tuck (W.T.) Tiller; his paternal grandparents, Vince and Irene Tiller; his maternal grandparents, James and Magnolia Mathis. He is survived by his wife, soul mate, and the love of his life, Angie Tiller; his daughter, Robbie Paul; his son, Logan Grimes; his mother, Barbara Boggs, his sister, Allison and brother-in-law Charles Callaway; his nephew, Evan Duecker; his Aunt Harriett Ann Ruff; his Aunt Pam Dudley (Ross); his Uncle Vince Tiller (Louann); several cousins. Visitation will be held at Lord and Stephens East Thursday, July 14th , 6 to 8pm . A Memorial Service will be held at Lord and Stephens East, Friday, July 15th, 11am . Honorary Pallbearers are Bryan Arnold, Shane Burgess, Chris Davis, Timmy Lowe, David Mason (Hilley), Bill Nelms.
