William David Stephens

Mr. William David Stephens,72, of Lexington, Ga. died January 11, 2011. A native of Oglethorpe County, Mr. Stephens was a son of the late Newell Vaughn and Thelma Patton Stephens. He served in the United States Navy for over 10 years. Mr. Stephens retired as a house painter.
He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 sisters Lilly Locklear and Dorothy Sorrells.
Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Emily Amason Stephens, Lexington,Ga. Daughter Gidget Stephens, Lexington, Ga. Brother Pete Stephens, Hull, Ga and sister Annette Todd of Crawford, Ga. brothers in law and sisters in law Gary and Mary Frances Fleeman of Winterville, Ga and Jake and Deanna Amason of Carlton, Ga.
and several nieces nephews and other relatives.
Funeral services will be 2PM Friday January 14, 2011 at Lord and Stephens Oglethorpe Chapel with Rev. Buford Lockman officiating. Interment will be at Sandy Cross Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1-2 on Friday January 14, 2011 at the funeral home.
