William James "Jim" Schultz, 63, husband of Alisa Norris Schultz, died Sunday, June 26, 2016. A native of Athens, he was the son of the late William John "Bill" Schultz and Mary Thurmond Schultz. He was also preceded in death by an infant son, William Joseph Schultz. Mr. Schultz retired from the University of Georgia as a Budget Specialist after 30 years. Jim was an avid outdoorsman who loved cycling and maintaining the Georgia portion of the Appalachian Trail; he particularly enjoyed the trail at Blood Mountain. He also loved classical music and attending the symphony with his wife, Alisa. Survivors in addition to his wife include one son: Ben Schultz and daughter-in-law Holly and two grandchildren: Calvin and Ivy. A funeral service will be held Friday, July 1, 2016 at 2PM at Lord & Stephens West Chapel with Rev. Rob Bray officiating. The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 on Thursday, June 30, 2016 at the funeral home.
