William Eugene "Bill" Roberts

William "Bill" Eugene Roberts, 89, died November 16, 2015.
A native of Lithonia, GA, he was a son of the late Thomas and Clyde Haslett Roberts. Mr. Roberts lived in Watkinsville for the last ten years and was a member of Mars Hill Baptist Church. He retired from Western Electric after thirty-seven years and served in the United States Navy during World War II. He was a former deacon and member of the First Baptist Church of Lithonia, Rockdale Baptist Church and was an active mason for many years.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, November 18, 2015 at 11:00 AM at the chapel of Lord and Stephens, WEST. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 10:00 AM until service time.
Survivors include his wife of sixty-five years, Jeanette; three daughters, Pam (Tommy) Head of LaGrange, Cindy (Steve) Welshhans of Snellville and Dorrie (Herbert) Bond of Athens; six grandchildren, Shannon Head, Michael (April) Head, Joshua (Megan) Welshhans, Katie Welshhans, Jessica Bond and Taylor Bond; sister-in-law, Peggy Giles of Loganville.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or the Wounded Warrior Project.
Lord and Stephens, WEST, is in charge of arrangements.
