William M. (Billy) Pitts, 74, died May 13, 2005.
A native of Oglethorpe County, he was the son of the late Hughes and Pauline Hale Pitts. He was a veteran of the Korean War and was retired from University of Georgia Physical Plant with 28 years of service. He was a member of Clouds Creek Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be Sunday, May 15, 2005 at 3 p.m. at Clouds Creek Baptist Church. Interment will be in Forest Hills Cemetery in Elberton.
Survivors include his wife, Jean Anthony Pitts; daughter and son-in-law, Pamela and Andy Saxon; granddaughter, Constance Saxon; sisters, Elaine Lindsey Austell, Betty Love of Smyrna, Mary Moore of Elberton; and a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister, Peggy Thomason.
The family will receive friends Saturday from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. at Lord and Stephens Oglethorpe Chapel.
