William Franklin Pierce

William Franklin Pierce, 86, of Winterville, died on Monday, May 31, 2021.

A native of Nashoba County, MS, William was born November 12, 1934 to the late Joseph Robert Pierce and Eva Mae Collins Pierce. William served his country in the U.S. Air National Guard and the Air Force Reserves. He retired from the Federal Aviation Administration at Ben Epps Airport in Athens.

Along with his parents, William was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Clois Pierce and sister Ima Lois Harlow.

William is survived by his wife, Wilma Jean Pierce; two children: Pamela (Ronny) Bruce and Billy Pierce; grandson Adam Bruce; siblings Robert (Thelma) Charles Pierce and Nina Mae Posey; and many nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held Thursday, June 3, at Winterville Cemetery at 10:00 a.m. The family will receive friends at the cemetery for one hour prior to the service.

Memorials may be made to the Weekday Preschool at Winterville First Baptist Church, 305 N Church St, Winterville, GA 30683.
