William Thomas Nelms

William Thomas Nelms Sr., 68, of Lexington, passed away on Friday, August 13, 2021.

Born in Athens, he was a son of the late Eugene Nelms and Lucille McKettrick Nelms. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Glenda Stewart.

Survivors include two children, William T. Nelms Jr. (Debbie Nelms) and Melisa Gabriel (Greg Gabriel); grandchildren, Jessica Haley, Michelle Lindsey, Hunter Gabriel, Emmett Gabriel and Michael Tiller; four great-grandchildren and one on the way; sisters, Martha Coile, Tomi Nelms and Lucy Nelms.

Memorial services will be Monday, August 16, 2021 at 12:00 pm at Wesley Chapel Community Church. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 11:00 am until 12:00 pm.

Bill will be sadly missed by all family and friends. He loved his children Bill and Melisa and all family members. He always greeted others with a warm smile. He had many talents but he loved fishing and cooking. We know he is happy being with all family and friends that have gone before him. Rest in peace – love, your sisters.
