William M. (Bill) Cook, 74, died May 10, 2005.
A native of Athens, he was the son of the late Julian Walter and Gladys Catherine Smith Cook. He was a lifelong resident of this area and was retired from the City of Athens Inspections Department with 35 years of service.
Survivors include his wife of 27 years, Joan Cook; children, Chap Cook, Pennie Burkey and Cathy Padgett; sister, Joyce Cook Smith; step-children, Beth Kelley Zorbanos, David Kelley and Bill Kelley; several grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He is further survived by his former wife, Anne Cook and lifelong friend, Nathan Williams.
Memorial services will be Friday, May 13, 2005 at 11 a.m. at Lord and Stephens Chapel, EAST. Officiating will be his nephew, Rev. Randy Smith.
The family will receive friends at the funeral Home Friday from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m.
