William Felix "Bill" Greene

Bill Greene, 81, died Tuesday, January 13, 2015. A native of Ball Ground, GA, he was the son of the late Altus Lewis Benson Greene and the late Gladys McCalmon Greene. Bill was a graduate of Canton High School where he was an Eagle Scout. He attended the University of Georgia and graduated in 1956 with a degree in business. He served as the president of his freshman class. Bill never lost his love for the Georgia Bulldogs and was a life long member of the Georgia Bulldog Club.
He worked for Quality Machine Company from 1954 until the 1960s. In 1969 Bill founded Food Machinery Sales and continued to own and operate the business until 2006 when he retired and sold his company. In 1993 Bill purchased Dye Sheet Metal Products, Inc., and still owned the company at the time of his death.
Survivors include his wife Clara Ann Dawley Greene; daughters: Connie Greene (Geoff) Rushing of Athens, Deborah Greene House of Athens, April Ivey of Athens, Ashley Ivey of Athens; brothers: Bob (Iristine) Greene of Cocoa Beach, FL, Jack (Pat) Greene of Melbourne, FL; grandchildren: Michal (James) Moss, Josh (Darien) Kardos, Jordan (Ashley) Rushing, Andy Rushing, William Cody Ivey. He also had five great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 17, 2015, at 3 pm at Grace Fellowship Church with Pastors Tony Vismor and Geoff Rushing officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 5 pm until 8 pm Friday, January 16, 2015, at Lord and Stephens West.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Bill's memory may be made to the Athens Area Fellowship of Christian Athletes, P.O. Box 7723, Athens, GA, 30604.
Lord and Stephens West is in charge of arrangements.
