Danielsville - William David Embry, 67, died Tuesday, July 20, 2010 at Athens Regional Medical Center .
Born in Royston, GA , he was the son of the late Olis David and Reatha Brooks Embry. He retried from Harris Trucking after 10 years and was a member of Friendship Baptist Church. Mr. Embry served his country in the US Army during the Vietnam War and received the Purple Heart and Bronze Star.
Survivors include his wife, Ann Embry, son and daughter in law, Michael and Angie Embry of Colbert, grandchildren, Kendra and Karissa Embry, special nieces and nephews, Michelle Thomas, Cathy Elrod, Bruce and David Moon, as well as a number of other relatives.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 22, 2010 at 11:30AM at Friendship Baptist Church with Rev. Mark Palmer and Rev. Larry Elliott officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 at the funeral home Wednesday evening.
Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to St. Mary's Hospice.
