William "Bit" Eakin, 70, died May 23, 2009 at home.
He was born November 14, 1938 in Columbia, SC and was the son of the late William Forest Eakin and Frances Geneva Barnes.
Mr. Eakin moved to Atlanta, GA as a young child and resided in Georgia all of his life. He owned Bill Eakin Roofing Company for thirty-five years. He was active in Georgia Youth Football and baseball for years. He was a loyal Bulldog fan all his life.
He is survived by his wife of fifty-one years, Carolyn; son, Michael Eakin of Jackson, GA; daughter, Terri Eakin Cunningham and son-in-law, Joe Cunningham of Bogart; two grandchildren, Bobby and Cassidy Cunningham of Bogart.
The family will receive friends Monday, May 25, 2009 from 6:00 until 9:00 PM at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Mary's Hospice House, 1660 Jennings Mill Road, Bogart, GA 30622.
Private services will be held at a later date.
