William Ralph Cook died Wednesday, August 26, 2015 at his home in Watkinsville, Georgia at the age of 85. Born in Vale, North Carolina, he was the son of the late Loy and Minnie Cook of Connelly Springs, North Carolina. Mr. Cook was a member of Whitehall Baptist Church and retired as a carpenter from Wright & Wright Home Builder in 1995. Mr. Cook was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force and served proudly during the Korean conflict. Mr. Cook was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Charlotte Cook. He is survived by his children and their spouses: Kathy and Doug Watson, Tammy and Mike Deaton, Barry and Suzanne Cook, all of Watkinsville, Georgia, and Lisa and Anthony Foote of Roanoke, Virginia. Mr. Cook was preceded in death by his siblings: Odell Cook, Olen Cook, Gladys Cooke, and Betty Jean Ross. He is survived by his sister, Louise Herman, of Connelly Springs, North Carolina. He was proud Paw Paw of ten grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 29, 2015 at 2 PM at Lord & Stephens West Chapel with Rev. Buford Lockman officiating. Burial will follow at Oconee Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Tommy Cannon, Chris Boswell, Steven Berardinelli, Troy Glenn, Gary Griffith, Kenny Heintz, and Chris Stabler. His grandchildren will serve as honorary pallbearers.
