William Nathan Carruth

August 4, 1930 — April 14, 2012

Nathan Carruth, 81, husband of Helen Sims Carruth, died Saturday, April 14, 2012.

A native of Oconee County, he was the son of the late William James and Ethel Aiken Carruth and brother to the late James Thomas Carruth. He was a self employed Farmer, Plumber and Electrician. He was a member of Antioch Christian Church where he was a deacon for over 50 years.

In addition to his wife, Helen, Nathan is survived by nieces: Roberta Gresham, Faye Kimbel and Patsy Oldham as well as other nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 17, 2012 at 11AM at Antioch Christian Church with Rev. Scott Bartholomew. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be David Hayes, Albert Hale, Allen Dooley, Mark Kimbel, Greg Kimbel and Steve Kimbel. Honorary pallbearers will be the Elders and Deacons of Antioch Christian Church.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 Monday at Lord & Stephens West Chapel.

Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Antioch Christian Church or the United Hospice.

Lord & Stephens West is in charge of arrangements.
