Madison, GA - William (Bill) Henry Burt, Sr., 72, died January 3, 2008.
A native of Oglethorpe County, GA, he was a son of the late William Joel and Pearl Adkins Burt. He was resident of Maxeys until 1979 when he moved to Madison, GA. Mr. Burt was employed for thirty-six years with Central Truck Lines, Tampa, FL as a long distance road driver.
Graveside services will be Monday, January 7, 2008, at 2:00 PM at Mt. Pleasant Apostolic Church Cemetery.
Survivors include three children, Jonathan Dwight Burt of Maxeys, Cindy Burt Chapman (Kent) of Watkinsville, William Henry Burt, Jr. (Charlotte) of Maxeys; sister, Florrie B. Baughcum of Watson Mill, GA; five grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 7:00 until 9:00 PM at the funeral home.
Lord and Stephens Oglethorpe Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
