Wilbur Willis Tyner is at peace with the Lord, having passed March 27, 2016. A native of Madison County, Wilbur was born the son of the late Reuben M. Tyner and Pauline Bruce Tyner. He was retired from Eastman Kodak as National Sales Manager where he held various management positions for 32 years. He also served in the US Navy in the Pacific, Italy, and Turkey where he worked with NATO for a total of five years. After retiring, he and his wife Carroll moved from Rochester, New York to Homosassa, Florida where they enjoyed 21 years, of travel and golf with friends. They moved to the Athens area in 2006 to be near family. Wilbur was a member of Central Presbyterian Church and the Georgia Club of Athens. Wilbur and wife Carroll were married for 61 years. They have two daughters, Trish and Kim and four grandchildren. Mr. Tyner was preceded in passing by brothers Walton, Quentin, and Kenneth Tyner. He is survived by brothers Alvin and Reuben Tyner and sister Katie Ann Gunnells. Memorial services will be held on April 16, 2016 at Lord and Stephens Funeral Home West, 1211 Jimmie Daniell Road, Watkinsville, Georgia. Visitation will be at 1 PM followed by memorial at 2:30 PM.
