Winterville - Wilbur "Bill" Deagen, 82, of Winterville, died Thursday, June 24, 2010. Funeral services will be 2p.m., Sunday, June 27, 2010 at Lord & Stephens Funeral Homes, East Chapel, Athens. Visitation will be 6 p.m.-8p.m., Saturday, June 26, 2010 at the funeral home. Donations to Winterville First Baptist Church will be accepted in lieu of flowers.
Born in La Vernia, TX, he was the son of the late George and Dora Jo Achterberg Deagen. Bill retired from Sears and was a member of Winterville First Baptist Church. He served his country in the US Air Force during the Korean Conflict.
Survivors include son and daughter-in-law Michael and Selena Deagen; daughter Sherian Fennell; siblings Phoebe Lenz, Reba and Robert Johnson, and Gene and Cora Deagen; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by loving wife Margaret Deagen, daughter Rena Waldrop, and sons Billy and John Kirkland.
Lord & Stephens Funeral Homes, East has charge of arrangements.
