Wesley Gordon Whitehead

Bogart, GA - Wesley Gordon Whitehead, 70, died May 14, 2012.
Born in High Shoals, he was the son of the late Joe Wesley and Florence Elene Brooks Whitehead. Mr. Whitehead was a longtime cattleman and recently retired from RICO Corporation. He was a U.S. Army Reserve veteran and a Gideon. Mr. Whitehead was a lifelong member of Bogart Christian Church, where he served as Chairman of the Board for 10 years and was an Elder.
Funeral services will be Thursday, May 17, 2012 at 2:00 PM at Lord and Stephens Chapel, WEST with Rev. Allen Rogers officiating. Interment will be in Bogart Baptist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Wayne Edwards, Chet Edwards, Alex Edwards, Junior Edwards, Jason Whitehead, Wes Whitehead, Drew Whitehead, Chad Whitehead and Chase Habegger.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Gymmie Ann Whitehead; sons, Jeffery Gordon Whitehead (Cindie) of San Antonio, TX, Jay Paul Whitehead (Jane) of Bogart and Jackson Lee Whitehead (Donna) of Dacula; daughter, Joyce Whitehead Habegger (Chris) of Hull; brother, Wayman Whitehead of High Shoals; sister, Diane Gosnell of SC; grandchildren, Heather Whitehead, Jason Whitehead, Kristin Habegger, Chase Habegger, Wes Whitehead, Drew Whitehead, Chad Whitehead and Jacquelynn Whitehead.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday from 5:00 until 8:00 PM.
Flowers are optional. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
