Wera Nell Jackson

Wera Nell Jackson, 77, wife of 59 years to James Darrell Jackson, died Saturday, November 21, 2015 at her home surrounded by her family and friends.

Born in Oconee County, she was the daughter of Maggie Nell Moore Payne and the late Walter Prince Payne. She was also preceded in death by her sister and brother-in-law, Joyce and Eugene Eades. Mrs. Jackson Retired from the University of Georgia and had been an active member of Bogart United Methodist Church since age 16. She loved the outdoors where she and her husband spent time hunting, fishing, camping and spending time with her family. She and Darrell are past Bogart Citizens Of The Year. Mrs. Jackson also volunteered for the Board of Elections.

Survivors in addition to her husband and mother include three sons: Kenneth (Suzy) Jackson of Sarasota, FL, Terry (Ellen) Jackson of Bogart, Jim (Angie) Jackson of Zebulon, GA; brother, Stanley (Vici) Payne of Watkinsville; grandchildren: Ashleigh (Sean) Lennon, Dustin (Starr) Jackson, Catherine Jackson, Maggie Jackson, Matthew (Megan) Jackson, James Jackson; great grandchildren: Hayleigh Clarke, JT Clarke, Everett Jackson, Owen Jackson, nieces and nephews and numerous others that she loved as her own.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 24, 2015 at 2PM at Lord & Stephens West Chapel with Revs. Phil Williams, Megan Gomez and Travis Sneed officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8, Monday, November 23, 2015 at Lord & Stephens West Chapel.

Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Bogart United Methodist Church Building Fund or charity of ones choice.
