Weida Bell Morris, born Weida Bell Finch, went to sleep in death October 15, 2012.
Mrs. Morris was at the forefront of women joining the military, a pioneer in women electricians, and a great storyteller. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, daughter, and best friend to all that knew her.
Survivors include her husband, Michael Morris, of Harlem; mother, Lois Hebbard, of Harlem; children, Ginger Backer of Athens, Nelson Woods of Athens, Stormy Herrera of Athens, Joel Duncan of Jefferson, Bridgett Morris of Evans, Derrick Morris of Augusta, and Ashley Hall of Grovetown; grandchildren, Jonathon Backer, Rebekah Backer, Chancie Johnston, Marcos Herrera, Trevor Herrera, Isabel Tenoria, Nicholas Hinojosa, Alexandria Duncan, Sam Miller, Bryson Wiggins, Brylee Morris, Madison Hall, Connor Hall, and Avery Morris; great-grandson, Jake Jimenez; siblings, Shirley Gentry, Freida Williamson, Jimmy Finch, Brenda Poss, Wanda Flanagan, Amber Wideman, Terry Finch and Connie Mattle.
Memorial services will be Sunday, October 21, 2012 at 3:00PM at the chapel of Lord & Stephens, EAST. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Following the service, the family will gather at 1218 Hull Rd., Athens, GA 30601.
In lieu of flowers the family asks a donation be made at Regions Bank in the name of Weida Morris.
