Wayne Spurgeon Parnell went to be with Lord on December 12, 2016. Born on October 24, 1949 in Norfolk, Virginia to parents Enoch Spurgeon Parnell and Naomi Lucille Johnson. He leaves his wife of forty years, Terry J. Parnell and four daughters, Janice Twedt of Richmond Hill, Georgia, Jennifer Parnell (fiance Andy Herring) of Athens, Georgia, Tammy Dragon (husband Tony Dragon) of Richmond Hill, Georgia, and Rebecca Whitney (husband Daniel Whitney) of Athens, Georgia. He had 13 wonderful grandchildren that you cherished dearly.
Wayne entered the Air Force at a young age and received an Honorable Discharge in 1982. After that he worked in apartment maintinance and refrigeration. He enjoyed watching CNN and discussing politics. He was a Nascar racing and his favorite Nascar driver was Jeff Gordon. His favorite resturant was Waffle House no matter the time or day. His hobbies included working on vehicles and collecting model cars and trucks. His last five years he discovered the internet world and got his own computer. He needed constant assistance with programs and installing music library.
He will be missed by all his family and friends dearly, but we know we will meet again soon.
