Wayne Michael Melton Sr

Winterville, GA - Wayne Michael Melton, Sr., 65, died April 26, 2012.
A native of Athens, he was the son of the late Walter Roy and Juanita Jones Melton Culbertson. He was a self employed truck driver. Mr. Melton was US Air Force Veteran of the Korean Conflict and Vietnam. He served with the 55th Detachment, 7th Air Patrol Squadron and was a life member of AMVETS and VFW.
Survivors include his former wife, Celeste Stickler; son, Wayne M. Melton, Jr., his wife Pamela and their family, Zackary M. Melton, Bobbie Sue McDevitt, Connie Smethers, Brandon McDevitt, Joseph McDevitt and Katie Kirkwood; son, Jeffrey S. Melton, his wife Kimberly and their daughter, Samantha R. Melton; son, Timothy A. Melton and his family, Hope M. Melton, Hunter S. Melton, and Leah B. Tyner; sister, Margaret Jacquelyn Hix, her husband Dennis and their daughter, Angie Hix; step sister, Miriam Stokes; step father, Frank L. Culbertson and several great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Sunday, April 29, 2012 at 2:00 PM at Lord and Stephens Chapel, EAST with Rev. Janice Loggins officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM.
Flowers are optional. Memorials may be made to St. Mary's Hospice or Odyssey Hospice.
