Wayne Burkhalter

Wayne Burkhalter, 59, husband of 35 years to Melissa Burkhalter died on Thursday, November 3, 2022.
Born in Athens, GA he was the son of the late Bennie Herbert Burkhalter and Eulene Leachman Burkhalter. Wayne was the Co-Owner of Burkhalter Floor Sanding and Installation Service. Wayne loved the outdoors, especially deer hunting and spending time with his grandkids.
Survivors in addition to his wife include one daughter, Kayla (Kyle) Smith; brother: Rickie (Debbie) Burkhalter; grandchildren: Bennie Smith and Bexleigh Smith; many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, November 6, 2022 at 3PM at Lord and Stephens Danielsville Chapel with Rev. Larry Dyer officiating. Interment will follow at Jackson Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 1:00PM until 3:00PM on Saturday November 5, 2022.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Madison Oglethorpe Animal Shelter or the Athens Area Human Society.
