Born in Atlanta, GA, on August 20, 1942, Mr. Bales was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He was the youngest J. C. Penney Store manager at that time of employment and after many years in retail, Wayne pursued an interest in real estate. He was currently employed at Franklinís Gun Shop in Athens.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, November 30, 2005, at 3:00 PM at Oconee Chapel Funeral Directors. Interment will be in Oconee Memorial Park.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia "Trish" Wall Bales; son, Jeffrey C. Bollman of Las Vegas, NV; step-son, Mark P. Owen of Grayson; step-daughter, Elizabeth Sizemore of Lawrenceville; brother, James Bales of Douglasville; four grandchildren, Steven Sizemore, Jessica Sizemore, Justin Owen and Nathan Owen.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 5:00 until 7:00 PM at the Funeral home.
Oconee Chapel Funeral Directors, Inc., is in charge of arrangements.
