Hull - Warren Jackson (Buddy) Jones, 72, of Hull, passed away Thursday, March 1, 2007.
Mr. Jones was born June 1, 1934, the son of the late Grover and Pauline Bullock Jones. He is also preceded in death by his daughter, Nancy Conley Patton and son-in-law, Ricky Ogletree.
He was a lifelong resident of Madison County, Georgia and a member of the Hull Baptist Church. He was an US Army Veteran and worked hard all his life as a carpenter and truck driver. He enjoyed working on his farm.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Jeanette Jones; sons and daughter-in-law, Kenneth Warren Jones, Randy Jackson and Becky Jones, both of Hull, Jeff Conley of Florida; daughter and son-in-law, Jackie and Jerry Wilson of Hartwell; son-in-law, Mike Patton of Comer; sister, Weebie Ann Stamps of Rossville; brothers and sisters-in-law, Grover and Betty Jones, Oscar Paul and Paula Jones, both of Hull; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, March 4, 2007, at Hull Baptist Church with Revs. Randy Crowe and Eric Paul Jones officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers include David Garrett, Eddie Gordon, Jerry Nash, Robert Smith, Cecil Strickland, Ray Thomas, Sherman Thomas and Lawrence Tolbert.
Honorary pallbearers are the 1953 Class of Colbert High School.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Saturday at Lord & Stephens Funeral Home EAST.
