Comer - Wanda Elaine Spence-Smith, 65, wife of James H. Smith, died Friday, June 24, 2011.
Born in Clarksville , TN , she was the daughter of the late Charles A. and Janie Bibee Durham. She had worked for Clarke and Oconee County DFCS offices and was a member of Victory Baptist Church .
Survivors in addition to her husband, include children: Kim (Chris) Carithers of Comer, Randy Spence of Hull, Lewis Durham of Commerce, Christy Spence of Carlton; step children: Sara Conger, Melanie Johnson, Pam Smith, Wendell Smith; sisters: Sarah Gregory, Judy King, Sharon Reyes and ten grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents as well as to brothers
Funeral Services will be held Sunday, June 26, 2011 at 2PM at Lord & Stephens East Chapel. Burial will follow at Athens Memory Gardens . The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 Saturday, June 25, 2011 at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Madison Oglethorpe Animal Shelter or to the American Kidney Foundation.
