Athens, GA - Walter Graham Barefoot, 63, died July 28, 2007.
A native of Panama Canal Zone, he was the son of the late Lily P. and Irving Barefoot. Mr. Barefoot was a graduate of St. Andrews Presbyterian College with a double major in Religion and Philosophy and was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He made his home in Athens for the past 8 years and was currently employed with The University of Georgia Procurement Office. He loved hiking, music and travel.
Survivors include his sister, Eloise Wright of Navarre, FL; brothers, Irving Elkins of Dublin, VA and Charles Edward Barefoot of Big Spring, TX and nieces and nephews, Robert Elkins, Chris Ford, Susan Groenke and Angie Benson.
Services will be Tuesday, July 31, 2007 at 11:00 AM at Lord and Stephens Chapel, WEST.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home for one hour prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
