Wallace Edward Woods

Wallace Edward Woods, cherished husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother, passed away on Friday, July 2, 2021 at the age of 91.

A lifelong resident of Lexington, he was a son of the late Sammy Lincoln Woods Sr. and Mary Frances Norman Woods. Mr. Woods was a devoted member of Pentecost Chapel Congregational Holiness Church where he served in numerous capacities. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two children, Gary Wallace Woods and Kathie Woods Yielding and one brother, Sammy Woods Jr.

Survivors include his wife of 72 years, Martha Steele Woods; one daughter, Pam Woods Horton (Michael); three siblings, James Woods (Yvonne), Mary Helen Moody (the late E.D. Moody) and Martha Bridges (the late Herman Bridges); three grandchildren, Ashley Young (Dan), Brian Sisk (Caitlin) and Abby Horton; five great-grandchildren and one great-grandchild arriving in August.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, July 6, 2021 at 2:00 pm at Pentecost Chapel Congregational Holiness Church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday, July 5, 2021 from 6:00 until 8:00 pm at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Cemetery Fund at Pentecost Chapel Congregational Holiness Church.
