Wade Dalton Lawhorn

Wade Dalton Lawhorn, 44, of Bogart, passed away Saturday, May 28, 2016.

Born in Ft. Lauderdale, he was the son of Jo-Anne Dalton Lawhorn and the late Donald Wade Lawhorn. Wade was a member of Athens First Methodist Church, the Pathfinders Sunday School Class and the Moose Club. He was a 1990 graduate of Oconee County High School. He had a love for the lake (which he learned from his father), the outdoors and his overalls. Wade was a truck driver for over 17 years. He loved children and was a devoted husband and father. Most importantly, Wade was "larger than life" and will be remembered for the wonderful, kind, fun person that he was.

Survivors include Jessica Lawhorn; two children, Taylor and Joseph Lawhorn; one sister, Donna Lawhorn (Deena Dixon); one brother, Kevin Lawhorn (Melanie and their daughter, Emily) and many other family, friends and "adopted" children.

Memorial services will be held Monday, May 30, 2016 at 3:00 PM at Lord and Stephens, West. The family will receive friends for two hours prior the service from 1:00 pm until 3:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Red Cross, 3625 Atlanta Highway, Athens, GA 30606.
