Athens - Winfred Oliver Thomason, 81, died April 22, 2006.
Born in Madison County, he was the son of the late Joe and Laura Fitzpatrick Thomason and preceded in death by a sister, Candice Thomason. He was the widow of Marie Virginia Pinson Thomason. Mr. Thomason was a U.S. Army veteran and retired as manager of Ferrell LP Gas Company. He was a member of Young Harris Memorial United Methodist Church.
Funeral services were 2PM, Monday, April 24, 2006 at Lord and Stephens WEST Chapel. Revs. W.D. Thomason and Allen Smith officiating. Interment was in Evergreen Memorial Park.
Survivors include his daughter, Karen Adams of Athens; sisters, Geraldine Allen of Charlotte, NC, Laura Berryman of Athens and Eva Craft of Ila; brothers, Jack Thomason, Buddy Thomason and Aubrey Thomason, all of Ila, Caiphas Thomason of Watkinsville, Walter Thomason of Summerville, SC and Rev. W.D. Thomason of Murfreesboro, TN; 2 grandchildren, Shannon Marie Adams and Joshua Scott Adams.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or Vista Care Hospice.
