Vondell Ballard Holliday

Vondell Ballard Holliday, 76, of Athens, passed away on May 7, 2023. Born on September 9, 1946, she was the daughter of the late James F. Ballard and Lavora Maddox Ballard.

Vonnie attended Berry College in Rome, Georgia where she played on the basketball team and graduated with a Bachelors in education. Her absolute passion, second to her grandchildren, was hummingbirds. She and her family spent several summers together vacationing at Fripp Island in South Carolina where she enjoyed watching her grandchildren play on the beach.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Betty Fowler and Jeannette Thomas.

Survivors include her husband of 50 years, Donald Holliday; son, Donnie Holliday (Beth); grandchildren, Lexie and Kerrington Holliday; sister, Gladys Aaron.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 13, 2023, at 3:00 pm in the chapel of Lord & Stephens, EAST, Athens with her son, Donnie Holliday officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 to 3:00 pm.
