Vivian Louise Gueth, born on May 10, 1941, in Comer, Georgia, passed away peacefully on March 27, 2025, in Watkinsville, Georgia. A devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Vivian leaves behind a legacy of love and compassion that will be cherished by all who knew her.
Vivian's caring nature led her to a fulfilling career as a Certified Nursing Assistant at Quiet Oaks Nursing Home, where she shared her warmth and kindness with those in her care. Her commitment to helping others was evident not only in her professional life but also in her personal relationships, where she nurtured her family with unwavering affection.
She was a proud alumna of Emmanuel College, embodying the spirit of lifelong learning and community service. Vivian’s passions extended beyond education and work; she was a deeply loved member of her family. She is survived by her children, Allen (Crystal) Ford, David (Nicole) Gueth, Tracy Underwood, and Adam (Dawn) Gueth, who will forever hold her memory close in their hearts.
Vivian found joy in her role as a grandmother to Chris (Paige) Ford, Elizabeth Benyshek, Chelsea (Sherry) Ford, Kelsey Martin, Audria Shelnutt, Ethan Underwood, Evan Underwood, Hunter Kilgore, Fisher Kilgore, Mason Kilgore, Aubrey Gueth and Braxton Gueth. Her great-grandchildren, Brenner Ford, Jayden, Skylar, Jazmine, Paisley, Paxton, and Berklynn, were a continual source of happiness for her, enriching her life with laughter and love.
She is also survived by her brother-in-law Ernie (Sheila) Gueth and her beloved siblings Ernest Scarborough, Charles (Pam) Scarborough, Johnny Scarborough, and Martha (Troy) Adams, who carry forward the strength of their family bond.
Vivian was preceded in death by her loving husband, Dennis Edward Gueth, who was her partner and confidant in all aspects of life. She was also greeted in heaven by her cherished children, Tajuana Ford and Susan Michelle "Missy" Gueth, and son-in-law Scott Underwood. Additionally, she was reunited with her brothers, James Benjamin Scarborough and Kenneth Scarborough, who had left an indelible mark on her life.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during the visitation on April 1, 2025, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Lord & Stephens Funeral Homes Watkinsville, located at 1211 Jimmy Daniel Road, Watkinsville, GA. A funeral service will be held on April 5, 2025, at Colbert First Baptist Church, starting at 12:00 PM.
Vivian Louise Gueth’s spirit will continue to shine through the love she fostered in her family and the lives she touched throughout her journey. Her memory remains a guiding light, illuminating the path of all those fortunate enough to have known her.
