High Shoals, GA - Vivian Logan Byrd died June 2, 2011. Born January 28, 1914, she was the daughter of William and Myra Logan of Fitzgerald, GA. She was predeceased by her husband, James Madison Byrd, sister, Geraldine Logan Berry, and daughter, Marilyn Byrd Moore.
Mrs. Byrd is survived by her daughter, Susan Byrd Mathews and son-in-law, James Samuel Mathews; grandchildren, James Madison Mathews, Meredith Mathews Knoche, of Columbia, SC; son-in-law, Olan Moore, Watkinsville, GA; grandchildren, James Moore, Woodstock, GA, Amy Moore Brown, Simpsonville, SC and seven great-grandchildren.
While living in Calhoun, GA, Mrs. Byrd was an active member of Calhoun First United Methodist Church. She served as president of the United Methodist Women, and she was a lifetime member.. She was a volunteer at Gordon County Hospital and the Calhoun Chamber of Commerce. In her later years, she was a member of Athens First United Methodist Church in Athens, GA.
Graveside services and interment will be held at 11 AM on June 6, 2011 at Fain Cemetery in Calhoun, GA
