VIRGINIA DAIRLETTE PATTON
On Thursday, June 22, 2017, at the age of 81, while surrounded by family in her home, Dairlette went home to be with her Lord. Dairlette will be forever remembered and missed by her husband and best friend of 63 years, Raleigh Patton; their children, Dwayne and Lynn Patton, David and Kim Patton; her grandchildren, Steve Patton, Annette and Bruce Bauer, Jennifer and Benton Lastinger, D. J. Patton; and her great grandchildren, Zac Patton, Zoe Patton, Coby Lastinger, and Silas Lastinger, as well as her brothers and sisters Lucy McCullough, Jean Payne, Bobby and Patricia Patterson, Terry and Cheryl Patterson, Evelyn Power and Jeanelle Moore. She will also be missed by many nieces and nephews and wonderful friends.
Dairlette was preceded in death by her parents Roy Marcus and Nettie Louisa Patterson and her brother James Patterson. She also joins a beloved daughter, Karen Annette Patton, in heaven.
Dairlette chose Colbert Ga. to create a warm and loving home for her children and grandchildren. She worked side by side with the love of her life for 25 plus years at Patton's Meat Processing Plant. She was a great gardener who loved her roses, blueberry bushes and house plants, as well as growing a huge garden to feed her family. She also spent many hours crocheting beautiful pieces of art work to give to family and friends.
Dairlette was member of Colbert First Baptist Church for many years. Over the years she served her Lord in many ways, but will be most remembered as a great prayer warrior. She believed that if it is important to you, it is important to God.
A celebration of Dairlette's life is planned on June 24th, 2017 at Colbert First Baptist Church at 3 p.m. with Pastor Brad Wilson officiating. Deacons of Colbert First Baptist will serve as pallbearers and her beloved friends of the Betherean Sunday School Class will serve as honorary pallbearers. Family will receive visitors at 2 p.m. at Colbert First Baptist Church. In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Compassionate Care Hospice, 2340 Prince Ave., Athens, Ga. 30606.
