Virginia Ann McGirr

Ms. Virginia Ann McGirr, age 75, of Athens, Georgia was called home on Thursday, July 29, 2021. Ms. McGirr was born in El Paso, Texas on August 2, 1945 and known to her friends and family as “Ginger”.  Ginger was a stay home mom when her children were young but later was a Home Health Nurse and occasionally  Customer/Retail Services. She was a loving Mother of 4 children, Grandmother and Mother-in-law.

Ginger is preceded in death by her parents Virginia and Mariano Varela, brother, Mariano (Butch) Varela Jr., and oldest son, Glenn R. Westbrook.

Survivors include: Brother Joseph Varela of Alamogordo, NM, Sisters Martha (Muzzie) Serrao of El Paso, TX, and Dora Ruiz of Anthony, TX. Children Stacie (Mitchell) Graham of Douglasville, GA, Elizabeth Westbrook of Hitchcock, TX, and Henry Westbrook of Athens, GA. Grandchildren Shane Westbrook, C.J. Kade, Carly (Steven) Rann, Brianna Graham, C.J. Graham, Crystal (Michael) Moore, Heather (Benjamin) Binning, Felicia Mathis, and many nieces, nephews and great grandchildren.

A memorial will be announced at a later date.
