Virginia S. Marshall, 87, died December 13, 2006. She was a resident of Oconee County most of her life and a member of Salem United Methodist Church. She was the daughter of Powhatan Wilbon Stovall and Lennie Mae Bell Stovall. Preceding her in death were her husband John Calvin Marshall, and sisters Sara Woodworth, Helen Champlain, and Kathryn Jones. She is survived by her son John Calvin Marshall, Jr. of Athens; a sister Margaret Phillips, of Athens; and a number of nieces and nephews. Mrs. Marshall was retired from General Time Corporation and was a charter member of the Watkinsville Fellowship Club.
Visitation will be Thursday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
Funeral services will be Friday, December 15, 2006, at 3:00 PM at the chapel of Lord and Stephens, WEST with Rev. O.C. Dean officiating. Interment will be in Salem United Methodist Church Cemetery, Farmington, Georgia.
Memorials may be made to the perpetual care fund of Salem Methodist in care of Stephanie Wright, 2511 Watson Springs Road, Watkinsville, GA 30677.
Lord and Stephens, WEST, is in charge of arrangements.
