Virgil Lee Strickland, 65, died April 29, 2016.
A native of Winnsboro, SC, he was a son of the late Dorothy Mae Lewis and Joseph Olen Strickland. He was also preceded in death by a son, Michael Shane Strickland, daughter, Nancy Carolyn Bradberry, brother, Joe Strickland, Jr. and sister, Jean Bennett. Mr. Strickland was a brick mason in this area for many years.
Funeral services will be Monday, May 2, 2016 at 3:00 pm at the chapel of Lord and Stephens, EAST with Revs. Michael Stowers, Buford Lockman and Jimmy Edwards officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Park.
Survivors include his wife of forty-seven years, Carolyn Strickland; son, Harold Wayne Bradberry; daughter, Leslie Michelle Bradberry, both of Nicholson; two brothers, Lamar Strickland of Gainesville and John Strickland of Bishop; sister, Theresa Jane Smith of Heflin, AL; two grandchildren, Marcus Greene of Nicholson and Taylor Bradberry of Statham; two great grandchildren, Marcus Greene and Bryson Moore, both of Jefferson; dear friend, Tracy Cox.
Pallbearers will be Stan Childers, Tracy Cox, Marcus Greene, Scott Bramlett, Roger Streetman and Benji Streetman.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 6:00 until 8:00PM at the funeral home.
