Comer - Virgil Morrow Jr., 76, passed away Saturday, July 5, 2008.
A native of Greensboro, N.C., he was a son of the late Essie Whitehead and Virgil Morrow Sr. He was a veteran of the United States Navy and served in the Korean Conflict. Mr. Morrow was owner and operator of Morrow's Florist in Comer for over thirty-five years and served on the City Council of Comer for many years. He was a member of Comer Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be Monday, July 7, 2008, at 3 p.m. at the chapel of Lord and Stephens, Danielsville. Interment will be in Comer Cemetery.
Survivors include a sister, Joanne Jackson of Middletown, MD; three nieces, Elizabeth Granzow of Middletown, Md., Rhonda Jackson of Kearneysville, W.Va., and Carol Johnston of Comer; nine great nieces and great nephews, Jeffery, Alan, Jon, Meghan, Lauren, Liam, MacKenzie, Ron, and Emily; one great-great niece, Madison.
The family will receive friends Sunday from 7 - 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Comer Baptist Church Building Fund.
Lord and Stephens, Danielsville, is in charge of arrangements.
