Virgil Edward "Elmo" Hudson Sr

Virgil Edward "Elmo" Hudson, Sr., died Monday, March 12, 2018. Born in Athens, he was the son of the late Curtis William Hudson and Hassie Gooch Hudson. He was also preceded in death by his son: Virgil Edward Hudson, Jr. and daughter, Jennifer Hudson. Elmo was a truck driver for Baldwin Trucking and member of Whitehall Baptist Church. Survivors include his three children: Gail Coile of Colbert, Paula Hudson of Athens and Paul (Crystal) Hudson of Bishop; brothers: Doc Hudson of Bishop, Jr. Hudson of Bogart, Mike Hudson of Danielsville, Billy Hudson of Colbert, Patricia Roberts, Linda Huel of Danielsville, Rita Witcher of Athens and Margaret Bradberry of Athens; ten grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, March 14, 2018 at 2PM at Whitehall Baptist Church with Rev. Jimmy Edwards officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
