Violet "Peggy" Bell Whitley "Nanny&qu Allen

Violet "Peggy" Bell Whitley Allen, 84, of Athens, passed away December 19, 2014.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Annie and Irvin Whitley; sons, Herman Burel and Dell O'Barr; granddaughter, Jennifer O'Barr; brothers, Dickie Whitley and Randolph Whitley and sister, Dorothy McDaris.
Mrs. Allen was retired from Ameripride Services after many years of service and was of the Holiness faith. She was known by many as "Nanny" and loved by everyone.
Survivors include her life partner, Robert Black; daughters, Linda Ryals, Sally Peppers, Marcia Williams and Mary Peppers; sister, Louise Sheppard; brothers, Pete Whitley and Joel Whitley; 17 grandchildren, 41 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, December 23, 2014 at 2:00 PM at Lord and Stephens Chapel, EAST with Rev. Morris Sapp officiating. Burial will be in Colbert Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Jerry Brown, Scott Brown, Richard Cannon, Brad Cannon, Joey Long, Jerry Weston, Joey Veal and Chance Long.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday from 6:00 until 8:00 PM and will also gather at 147 Harve Mathis Road, Athens.
