Vincent Xavier Bennett

A beloved son, grandson, nephew and cousin, Vincent Xavier Bennett (July 1, 1993), died Wednesday March 11, 2015 at the tender age of 21. Vincent is survived by his mother, Cherie Thornton Jackson and stepfather, Peter S. Jackson; father, Doyle Edward Bennett, Jr.; brothers, Spencer Edward Bennett and Arthur Fredrick Jackson; grandparents, Doyle Edward and Christine (Johnson) Bennett Sr.; step-grandparents, Dr. Curtis Rukes Jackson and Sarah Jane (Saffold) Jackson; great-grandmother, Juanita Johnson; aunts; Robin Bennett, Judy (Thornton) Dawson and Angela (Thornton) Walker (Billy Walker, Jr.), and uncle, Jason Eric Thornton; great-aunt, Dr. Rebecca Bunce; cousins; Felisia Marie Bennett, Jonah V. Barkley, Josiah Lucas Dawson and Robert Joshua Dawson. Vincent is also survived by a number of great aunts and uncles and cousins. He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Bobby J. Thornton and Carolyn (Wheeler) Thornton, and maternal great-grandparents, Larry D. Wheeler, Sr. and Evie (Manders) Wheeler, and paternal great-grandfather, Edward F. Johnson. A memorial service celebrating the life of Vincent will be held at 2:00 pm on March 16, 2015 at Mars Hill Baptist Church on Mars Hill Road, Oconee County. The service will be conducted by Rev. Travis Graham, Minister of Youth and Children. The family will be receiving visitors on March 15, 2015 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Lord and Stephens East. Interment will be in the Mars Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Cedar Shoals High School Art Department. Make checks payable to the Clarke County School District. Put Art Department at Cedar Shoals High School on the memo line. Pallbearers will be Lucy Elise, Dylan Long, Daniel Powers, Jessie Landrum, Imorie Curry, and Nickolas Powell.
