Vera Lee Warren passed away at her home in Bogart of Wednesday, December 23, 2015 at the age of 96. Born on November 28, 1919, she was the first born of Claude and Eunice Sims. She was married to J.D. Warren for forty-nine years prior to his death in 1993.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, W.C. and Grady Sims; two sisters, Blanche Warren and Martha Faye Guntharp; and three nieces and nephews. She is survived by one sister, Lorene Davis of Statham; seven nieces and nephews; seventeen great nieces and nephews; twenty-one great-great nieces and nephews. Never having children, she considered nieces, Barbara Rowan, Glenda Brown, Elaine Holland and nephew, Terry Ferguson, as her children.
Vera Lee was a member of Bogart First Baptist Church, where she took great pride in cleaning every week until the last few years when her health started to decline.
The family would like to thank her caregivers, Lynn Dial and Amanda Culver. Due to their love and care, Vera Lee was able to remain at home during her last years. We would also like to thank the nurses with Compassionate Care Hospice for their excellent care of Vera Lee and the family during Vera Lee's last week.
Funeral services will be Sunday, December 27, 2015 at 2:00 PM at the chapel of Lord and Stephens, WEST. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Park.
Nephews will serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends Saturday from 5:00 until 7:00 pm at the funeral home.
Lord and Stephens, WEST, is in charge of arrangements.
