Velty Thomas Wright Jr

Tom Wright, a native of Roanoke VA currently residing in Athens, GA passed away on Wednesday May 30, 2012 as the result of a sudden and brief illness. Tom would have celebrated his 78th birthday on June 4, 2012.
A graduate of Virginia Tech, Tom enjoyed a long and distinguished career as a stock broker at Paine Webber and some of his happiest times were spent on the golf course enjoying the company of great friends.
The center of Tom's life was his best friend and wife of 31 years, Deborah Simmons Wright, his two sons Brent and his wife Celia and Eric and his wife Sandra, his beloved grandchildren and his dear dog Jack.
He is also survived by his brother Rev. Ken Wright and his wife Betty and his sister Carol Mills and her husband Jim. Tom was preceded in death by his parents Velty and Lena Wright.
A celebration of Tom's life will be held in Roanoke at a later date.
